Butxacades

1) Five languages expressions:
There are no expressions because the article is in Catalan
2) Three main ideas:

·         Any teacher has to prepare different activities in case he/she can use one of them or you need to improvise.
·         It is important motivate students during the learning and transmitted this motivation from the teacher to the students.
·         Despite the difficulties, a teacher should always ahead and follow to teach.

3) General idea:
The main idea of this article is how some teacher lost the motivation to teach, how they feel in their works and how they can't do anything to solve the problems of the classes because they feel alone, with any support from other teachers.

4) My opinion:

The article shows a typical situation of many teachers. They lost the motivation to teach because they don't have the cooperation of the director or other teachers and they feel frustrated. This article can be a self reflection for a lot of teachers to change the real situation of English teachers in many schools.

What Is Differentiated Instruction?

1)    Five languages expressions:
·         Tailoring
·        Struggling learners
·         Pursue a topic in greater depth
·         Labels
·         Home settings

2) Three main ideas:

  • Teachers have to make an effort to respond to all needs of students to get a good learning.
  • Sometimes, the teacher can use the time as a good resource because this let students to finish the activities and the learning.
  • There are four classroom elements based on student readiness, interest, or learning profile that teachers can use in class: content, process, products and learning environment.

3) General idea
Each pupil has different needs, motivations and learning rhythms. For this reason teachers have to differentiate the content, process, products and the learning environment.

4)  My opinion:

This reading was very short in compare with others, but this doesn't mean that the article doesn't be interesting. There are some interesting ideas about how I can prepared a class and pay attention in the individual needs of each student.

How to dialogue with a teacher helps children learn

1)    Five languages expressions:
  • Community of enquiry
  • Intermental Development Zone
  • Properly acknowledge teachers
  • Scheme of work
  • Practitioners
·
2) Three main ideas:
  • The dialogue between teachers and students is essential because teachers have to show students how to do the activities. This method is better than the other method, where the teacher only speak and students only listen to him.
  • It is important that student ask questions and answer them to reformulate their knowledge and see that there are different perspectives.
  • During the learning, the teacher has to motivate students and challenge them because the teacher is a cognitive guide who need help students with open questions and answers.

3) General idea:
The dialogue is very important to have a good communication between teachers and students. Teachers should know when ask questions because these questions can help students to establish the first communication. From here, it can be a dialogue (with the body language or with the speaking) and begin the process of teaching and learning.

 4)  My opinion:
I think that the dialogue is fundamental during the process or learning because, with questions and answers children can understand in a better way the language and they can share their knowledge.
Other important thing that I liked about the article is the several good ideas that the article mention and any teacher can use in a CLIL class. For example, the dialogue between teacher and students is essential for the learning. Other example is about how teacher can use the language as a tool to teach content and different topics.

To conclude, I would like to say that teachers have to create a good environment to motivate student to participate and make questions. It is important that students feel comfortable during their learning and take a participatory role during the classes.

The Integrated Nature of CLIL: A Sociocultural Perspective

1)    Five languages expressions:
  •  Twofold aims of CLIL
  • Transaction of subject knowledge
  •  Socially contextualised entity instantiated in language.
  • Other users of the target second language
  • Apprenticeship

2) Three main ideas:

  • The first step to construct a good knowledge is CLIL language because is the base of the language learning. The second step is the social nature of learning.
  • CLIL let children learn the content and the language throw communications and exploration because the methodology is dynamic, interactive and practice.
  • We need key words, expressions and a community to understand the language.

3) General idea:
Language is the base of any learning and, for this reason, we need to motivate students. To get this, we should combine language, CLIL methodology and social nature learning because this way is more interactive and dynamic for children and we can get other perspective to learn a new language. In addition, students can achieve the content of a concrete topic and use this new vocabulary and grammar structures in a real situations.

4)  My opinion:

I think that this article is very interesting because the language is the best way to communicate with other people and change different ideas, opinions, knowledge… Furthermore, if we combine CLIL methodology with the social nature we can get a good opportunity to learn a second language in a different and motivate way for children because students learn the language without realizing. But, apart from the language, students also learn to work in groups, share different opinions, ask questions and, in general, create their own knowledge.

2) Three main ideas:
  • The importance of the diversity and the plurilingualism of the languages.
  • Promote plurilingualism with a framework.
  • Educate all learners to respect and promotes multilingual society.
3) General idea:
The importance of the languages in schools and how it can helps to develop knowledge and skills. But, to get it, everybody has to collaborate (students, teachers, families...) and use different strategies for change the management.

    4) My opinion:

I like a lot this article because it's so interesting and useful for teachers and students.
I think that the more languages are in a class, the more things students can learn and more enriching is for them.
The plurilingualism can promotes the respect for other languages and show students that they can learn other interesting aspects related with the language such as the culture or traditions.
In addition, teachers can take advantages about this plurilingualism and include its aspects in the curriculum or the things that he teaches in class.
