The principles of child-centered education

1) Five languages expressions:

  • Inquisitiveness of the child.
  • Scholastic topics.
  • Strengths.
  • Having on broader understanding.
  • Child-centered education.

2) Three main ideas:
  • Child-centered education.
  • Learning and self-education process.
  • Child's individual learning.

3) General idea:
There are different ways to optimize the development of children's personality and their competences, but to achieve this children need some requirements like the orientations, active self-regulated learning or addressing performance assessments in an encouraging manner.

4) My opinion:

I like this article because it is very useful and interesting. The text makes me think about what kind of things or requirements need children for their education. About of all these requirements, I think that the most important are number two, six and one.
In relation to number 2 or active self-regulated, it is important because children have to be able to answer their questions instead of adults.
In reference to number six or the addressing performance assessments in an encouraging manner, I think that children can learn more if they are conscious of their errors and, in consequence, they can learn from these errors.

Finally, about point number one or orientation on the need of the children, it is important to orient children during their learning and their needs with the lessons.
In conclusions, there are several requirements, but I think that the most important for child-centered education are these ones that I have commented because they can help in the development, competences and needs of children.
